Mr. Bomke Paul

Paul Bomke, Diploma in economics and public services, since February 2010 CEO at the Pfalzklinikum fuer Psychiatrie und Neurologie (2,200 employees) (till 2010 senior manager of administration), a provider for mental health services in the palatine region, State of Rhineland-Palatinate (16 locations) and for Treatment in neurology in Klingenmuenster. He is also CEO of a Facility Management company (public limited) which provide a full range of facility services for hospitals and an out patient departement (public limited) in the region around Kaiserslautern. Kusel and Landau and CEO of a community based services company (public limited).

His main focus is on improving strategic- and leadership issues in institutions for mental health services in the south of germany. A further focus of his work is to develop models and projects for community based mental health services, based on international experiences in this field. He is also concentrating on policy making in the field of integration and inclusion of mental ill and disabled persons in the communities.

Since 2018 public health approaches are part of the work of Paul Bomke. He promotes public-health theories and approaches to create new services which try to improve health and recovery on the individual and on the community level. Furthermore Pfalzklinikum and Bomke are investing since 2019 in the provision of integrated service to redefine the role of a mental health hospital in the network of services in the communities..

Bomke was project leader of the "german learning group" at the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative (AFWI). Since October 2014 Founder of the Initiative “Die Pfalz macht sich/dich stark Wege zur Resilienz” (the palatine region makes itself/your stronger – Ways to Resilience).

Bomke is since July 2018 Member of the Board of Mental Health Europe for the umbrella organization of community based services in Germany (Dachverband Gemeindepsychiatrie) and Member of the Commission for Psychiatry of the Geman Association of Hospitals and Member of the sub-committee mental health in the European Association of Hospital Managers (EAHM)

Palzklinikum and Bomke won in February 2016 two Awards of the oneBigSocietyAwards:

Award for Innovation (Initiative of the Year) and Excellence in Leadership Award
