BIOGRAPHY

Holger Höhmann was born in 1950 in Solingen, Germany. He is Commercial Director and CEO of the LVR-Klinik Langenfeld, a psychiatric hospital with more than 600 beds. He also is member of the Board and Chairman of the Specialist Group „Psychiatry“ of the Association of Hospital Directors in Germany (VKD) as well as President of the subcommittee „Mental Health“ of the European Association of Hospital Managers (EAHM).

After finishing school and an apprenticeship as Industrial Manager, Mr Höhmann started working in the hospital sector in 1972. He went on to study extra-occupational at the University of Salzburg and achieved the academic titles of Master of Advanced Studies, Master in Management and Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management. After more than ten years in the hospital sector and a temporary international assignment in Saudi Arabia, Mr Höhmann became Commercial Director and CEO of the LVR-Klinik Langenfeld in 1991. Since then he also temporarily was additionally Advisory Commercial Director of five other LVR-Clinics.

Mr Höhmann has extensive experience in Quality Management and Ethics in the hospital context. In addition to his main occupation, he is Lecturer for “Quality Management and Ethic at the University of Salzburg, Austria. He also is EFQM-Assessor since 1999 (European Foundation for Quality Management), KTQ-Visitor since 2003 (Kooperation für Transparenz und Qualität im Gesundheitswesen – Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in Health Care) and ISO-Auditor since 2011 (International Organization for Standardization).
